MSCN Admission Requirements

• Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited university
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Completion of required prerequisite courses with a C or better
• Students are required to submit their applications on DICAS
• UNT Health Program Application fee: $50
• DICAS application fee: $50 for the first program application and $25 for each additional application
• You may apply with up to four prerequisites still in progress, as long as they’re completed before the program begins
• No GRE score or DPD verification statement is required

English Composition

• 6 SCHs total: ENGL 1301, 1302, 1311, 1312, 2311, 2314 or 2315

Mathematics

• 6 SCHs total: College Algebra (MATCH 1314 or higher), Statistics (MATH 1342 or 2342)

Social Science

• 3 SCHs total: PSYC 2301, SOCI 1301, ANTH 1301 or higher

Sciences

• 4 SCHs or more: Human Anatomy and Physiology (BIOL 2401 and 2402)
• 4 SCHs: General Chemistry with lab (CHEM 1411, 1412 or 1413)
• 4 SCHs: Organic Chemistry with Lab (CHEM 2423)
• 3 SCHs: Microbiology with Lab (BIOL 2321 or 2421)
• 3 SCHs: Genetics (BIOL 2316 or 2416)
• 3 SCHs: Nutrition (BIOL 1322, NUTR 1322 or HECO 1322)
• 3 SCHs: Human Nutrition elective

Management

• 3 SCHs: Principle of Management or Intro to Business

The MSCN program participates in the Spring application period.  Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as the DICAS application portal opens. All  supporting materials such as official transcripts, letters of recommendation and prerequisite completion plans (if applicable) must be received by the supporting document deadline.

2. Click on “Create Account” and enter your information.
3. Under "Add Programs" select University of North Texas Health Science Center Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition
4. Enter your academic history
5. Enter all colleges attended and request official transcripts to be sent directly to DICAS.
6. Enter all coursework completed and grades
7. Provide Supporting Information
8. Experiences - Describe your work, leadership, and volunteer experiences
9. Achievements - List all your achievements including dean’s list, awards, scholarship, etc.
10. Memberships / Organizations
11. Licenses and Certifications
12. Upload Resume/CV
13. Respond to Personal Statement and other required questions

14. Upload a plan for completion of any incomplete academic requirements

15. Letters of Recommendation
16. Enter the contact information for your three (3) professional references.
17. Your reference will receive a link to submit the recommendation letter.
18. Assign Courses to our prerequisites
19. Submit Application
20. Verify that you have added UNT Health Science Center Master of Clinical Nutrition to your programs.
21. Pay DICAS  application fee
22. Submit your application!
23.  Pay program application fee once you receive an email with payment link.

• The admission office will review applications and invite selected applicants to virtual interviews with the MSCN Admission Review Committee until May 1^st or when all seats are filled. Please note that not everyone who applies for admission is invited to the interview, and not everyone invited to the interview will receive a program’s admission offer.
• The admissions office will notify students of the admission decision.

• Students who are accepted into the MS Clinical Nutrition (MSCN) program must complete the following steps as part of the enrollment process:
• Accept the program offer and pay the non-refundable $200 seat fee by the stated deadline.
• Pay and complete a criminal background check. 
• Submit immunization records to Student Health Services, in compliance with  Texas Administrative Code. Click here to view the immunization requirements for UNT Health students. Please note that students are required to undergo an additional background check and drug test before the start of supervised practice.
