We want to inform you of a temporary delay in financial aid disbursements for Summer 2026. Due to recent changes for the 2026–2027 academic year under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OB3), financial aid processing for Summer 2026 is currently on hold across all programs.

We are currently awaiting a required system update from the U.S. Department of Education before we can begin loading new FAFSAs, any files such as the master promissory note, and processing any aid.

What this means for you:
Summer 2026 billing due dates will be extended
No late fees will be assessed during this delay
Eligible students will receive financial aid retroactively once processing resume
Please continue summer courses as planned - your enrollment will not be impacted

Our team is actively working with IT partners to resolve this as quickly as possible. We will keep you informed and notify you as soon as processing resumes.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Financial Aid Office at 817-735-2626 or finaid@unthealth.edu.

Please click https://studentaid.gov/announcements-events/big-updates to view the Federal Student Aid Changes from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The information is provided by the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. Please continue to monitor the studentaid.gov and Important Federal Changes websites for future updates.

  • Summer 2026/Fall 2026/Spring 2027 terms
  • The School Code for UNT Health is 009768.
  • Do not provide parent information, unless you are a dependent undergraduate CBTS or Nursing student.
  • Processing of applications will begin March 2026.
  • HSC Application and Awarding Process
  • For additional financial assistance please select the type of aid: Scholarships,  GrantsWork Study or Loans.

You will know we have received your funds when you get a “Right to Cancel” email–at this point the funds have been released to Student Financials for processing. The Student Financials Office will send you an email when they have processed your refund as well.

As of Fall 2015, financial aid regulations prohibit federal financial aid from paying finance and/or overtime charges.  Once federal financial aid has paid eligible tuition and fees, some students may receive a refund yet still owe a balance because of finance and/or overtime charges.  Payment arrangements would need to be made with UNT Health Student Finance for the remaining balance to secure a student’s classes.

Please watch your Task tile on your MyHSC portal. If you accepted a federal loan you will have to complete Entrance Loan Counseling and Sign a Master Promissory Note at studentaid.gov before we can request your loan funds.

Please remember your disbursement date is NOT the date you receive your funds.  This is the date we request your funds from the Department of Education.  Reminder! Your Financial Aid will be split evenly between the terms you are enrolled.
