David Keller, Ph.D.

David Keller, Ph.D. (‘04), has served as dean of the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences at UNT Health Fort Worth since July 2025.

Before joining UNT Health, Keller served as associate dean and chair of the Department of Kinesiology in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at University of Texas at Arlington. At UTA, he led significant growth in faculty recruitment and departmental research activity, helping to expand annual research expenditures and infrastructure. He also supported the successful launch of multiple degree programs, including a Ph.D. in kinesiology, and played a key role in increasing student enrollment and credit-hour production.

In addition, Keller helped advance biomedical research as a co-investigator on a National Institutes of Health grant designed to prepare undergraduate STEM students for research careers. He was instrumental in the strategic planning of UTA’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation and led several initiatives, including the development of clinical faculty promotion guidelines, a new departmental strategic plan and a comprehensive faculty evaluation process. He also played a pivotal role in securing a STEM designation for UTA’s Master of Science in exercise science program.

A proud UNT Health alumnus, Keller earned both his master’s and doctoral degrees from the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences, formerly Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He received his bachelor’s in exercise science from UTA and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
