Research Spotlight: Dr. Bruce Bunnell’s research highlighted by Lipedema Foundation
Dr. Bruce Bunnell, chair and professor of Microbiology, Immunology and Genetcs, is
part of a research team that is exploring the role of extracellular matrix in influencing
the adipose tissue of people with lipedema.
The project, which is funded by the Lipedema Foundation, could reveal a “Lipedema ECM signature” as a potential biomarker for future diagnostic testing or as a therapeutic target.
