Rucha Trivedi defends her PhD and celebrates first author publication

Rucha Trivedi successfully defended her PhD dissertation and published a first author study on the same day. The occasion marked both the completion of her doctoral training in the Biochemistry and Cancer Biology discipline and the publication of her research reflecting the central theme of her dissertation work.
Her doctoral research focused on understanding how triple negative breast cancer spreads by reshaping its surrounding environment. In particular, her work examined the role of Annexin A2 and extracellular vesicles, which are tiny particles released by cells that help them communicate with one another. By studying how these signals influence nearby cells and contribute to tumor microenvironment remodeling, her research advances understanding of how cancer becomes more aggressive and spreads to distant organs, while also informing future translational and clinically relevant approaches.
Rucha completed her doctoral research under the mentorship of Dr. Jamboor K. Vishwanatha. Her dissertation committee included Dr. Nicole Phillips, Dr. Riyaz Basha, Dr. P. Mathew and Dr. Vicki Nejtek, whose guidance and support contributed to these important milestones.
In her next chapter, she plans to continue building a career in research centered on translational and clinical impact.
