What will you be doing in your role at UNTHSC and your practice site?

  • Internal Medicine Pharmacy Preceptor for IPPE and APPE at Medical City Fort Worth
  • Assistant Professor at UNTHSC

Why did you choose pharmacy as a profession? I was drawn to pharmacy initially because of my interest in chemistry and biology in high school, which continued through my undergraduate education. As I completed pharmacy school at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, I realized everything that pharmacists do for patients in every setting of healthcare.

What do you enjoy most about being a pharmacist? I enjoy working closely with the medical team to optimize medication use and safety in the hospital on discharge. I also enjoy teaching learners at various stages and disciplines, including pharmacy and medical students and residents.

Fun fact: My favorite hobbies include riding horses and enjoying the outdoors with my dog through hiking, biking, or just taking a walk through the park.
