SUPPORT ALZHEIMER’S RESEARCH AT UNT Health

Over 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. By 2050, this number is projected to rise to nearly 13 million. Continuing research to discover, validate, and advance testing so that they can be widely used in clinical settings to detect and diagnose Alzheimer’s and other dementias at the earliest stages is key. CREATING INNOVATIVE WAYS TO TEST AND TREAT ALZHEIMER’S

Dr. Sid O'Bryant research

Led by Dr. Sid O’Bryant, one of the world’s leading experts in blood-based biomarkers of Alzheimer’s, the Institute for Translational Research (ITR) focuses on precision medicine approaches to brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, Down syndrome, Dementia with Lewy Bodies and others.

The ITR is leading the world in pursuit of research breakthroughs, improved quality of life for all brain health patients and their families, and ultimately, optimal brain health for all. We want to understand the biology of the brain, how the brain works, and why the brain is different in some people compared to others. We explore how various factors impact the brain, and how to ensure the medical community can treat each person in the best way possible.

To achieve our why and our goal of precision health for everyone, we have set world records by enrolling over 4,000 participants, whom we call our partners. We also invested in a state-of-the-art Clinical Research Center where scientists worldwide can utilize research data to collaborate and develop innovative ways to enhance brain health.

If we are successful, our work will create new ways to diagnose and treat Alzheimer’s disease for all populations.
