About the Project

This project is part of the HRSA Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part F: Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) Program. It uses implementation science to adapt and evaluate interventions that better serve people with co-occurring HIV and mental health conditions. This project focuses on people who are out of care or experiencing barriers to retention in care.

Findings from this initiative will help the RWHAP determine what implementation strategies work to engage people with HIV in care and improve mental health and HIV outcomes in different settings.

Objectives

The implementation technical assistance provider (ITAP) and evaluation provider (EP) co-lead the project and partner on the following objectives:

  • Support a national cohort of implementation sites to adapt and implement interventions that engage and retain people with co-occurring HIV and mental health conditions.
  • Evaluate the implementation of interventions using implementation science frameworks.
  • Create and disseminate user-friendly multimedia materials to help other RWHAP organizations replicate effective interventions.

Funding Information

The ITAP is leading a competitive application process to select up to 10 implementation sites.
