The Office of Institutional Integrity and Awareness (OIIA) is a strategic unit that leads and oversees the university’s efforts in compliance, ethics, and privacy, safeguarding institutional integrity.

Its mission is to cultivate a culture of accountability and ethical excellence by aligning compliance, risk mitigation, and values-based leadership with the university’s mission and strategic priorities.

The OIIA team fosters a collaborative environment that promotes, guides, monitors, and enforces integrity-driven decision-making and behavior.

Key Functions of OIIA

  • Leadership & Strategic Alignment: Advises the President and senior leadership while integrating compliance and privacy considerations into university-wide planning and strategy.

  • Compliance Oversight: Manages compliance and ethics risk assessments, monitors institutional adherence, and provides regular reports to executive stakeholders.

  • Integrity Framework & Ethics: Promotes ethical conduct through the development of clear policies, targeted training, and open communication—ensuring accountability and alignment with the university’s core values.

  • Privacy Governance: Oversees HIPAA and state privacy law compliance, leads breach response efforts, and collaborates across departments to strengthen data protection practices.
