Advancing Health Through

Research, Innovation, and Collaboration

The UNTHealth Research Hub is a central resource for Principal Investigators (PI's) to navigate research topics such as finding funding opportunities, managaing awards, working with contractors and subawards, staying in compliance with state and federal regulations, and other grant related content

Sponsored Award Lifecycle

The sponsored award lifecycle describes the process a research project follows from the initial idea through proposal submission, award management, and final closeout. Each state involves collaboration between Principal Investigators (PIs) and multiple university offices, including Pre-Award Services, Research Administration, Sponsored Programs Accounting, and Research Financial Compliance, to ensure projects are financially sound, compliant with sponsor requirements, and successfully completed.

Understanding the Award Lifecycle helps PIs navigate the administrative and financial aspects of research funding so they can focus on advancing their research goals while maintaining compliance with federal regulations, sponsor guidelines, and university policies.
