Dr. John Licciardone co-authors JAMA article on the PACBACK Trial

Dr. John Licciardone is a Co-Investigator in the PACBACK Trial funded by The National Institutes of Health. This JAMA article from the research team indicates that patient self-management, supported by clinicians, was associated with better long-term outcomes than standard guideline-based medical care that included first-line drugs such as NSAIDs or skeletal muscle relaxants. The results were mediated by greater pain self-efficacy and lesser kinesiophobia and pain catastrophizing.
