UNT Health Caregiver Resources
Caregiver Access to Resources, Education & Support (Dementia CARES)
When: Wednesdays, April 1 - May 6, 2026.
Time: 10:30-11:30 (morning) or 4:00-5:00 (afternoon)
This is a FREE 6-week caregiver education and support program for those caring for someone with dementia. Each week of the program focuses on a different topic, including:
- Behavioral Changes
- How to Ask for Help
- Communication Skills
- Community Resources
- Dementia Live
- Caring for the Caregiver

UNT Health Center for Older Adults Virtual Caregiver Support Group
2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 12:00 PM
Open to all caregivers

UNT Health Brain Health Study for Caregivers
The Self-Management Program for Brain Health will support participants to make lifestyle changes that will promote brain health and cognitive functioning. A combination of health coaching, targeted assessment with feedback, and education will be used to provide a personalized approach to addressing brain function and health, empowering participants to self-manage their participation. This study is for caregivers or individuals who do not have a dementia diagnosis.

Understanding Parkinson's & Lewy Body Dementia
April 16 at 11:30 am to 12:30 pm CST
Online
Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia share many symptoms, but they
also have important differences. Learn how these conditions affect thinking, movement,
sleep, and behavior, and why they can be difficult to diagnose. We will also discuss
common symptoms along with practical tips to help care partners respond with understanding
and support. Free 1 hour CE credit.
Stress-Busting For Family Caregivers
Meets online every Monday from April 20 to June 22 (except May 25)
11:30 am to 1 pm
The Stress-Busting™ program is a nine-week proven to help Alzheimer’s and dementia
care partners through their journey. The Stress Busting program teaches:
- Stress Management Techniques,
- Relaxation and Coping Strategies
- Problem Solving and Support.
