CAP Tutor Spotlight! Meet Grace Arrell! She is a PT student and a CAP tutor.

Biggest piece of study advice for new students?
Do not expect yourself to know everything after just 1 pass over all the information, it takes multiple passes for things to stick. It's important to make sure you figure out WHAT you need to know first, then focus on making sure you understand it all and remember it.
What do you do to decompress?
Bake, listen to music, lay out at the pool, craft, go outside, pet a dog, workout
How has your experience as a tutor enhanced your understanding of course material?
Being a tutor has made me realize how much information I have actually retained from my previous courses and boosted my confidence as I continue to move forward through my program! I am able to see a lot of professional growth in myself looking at where I am now compared to when I started.
What are your interests outside of school and tutoring?
I love cooking and baking! I make cakes all the time for friends, family, and special events. I also make sourdough almost every week and love trying new recipes.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I used to work at a bakery when I was in college, and I was in charge of decorating over 100 desserts every day!
What motivated you to be a tutor?
I enjoy being able to help others succeed, especially in a subject like physical therapy that I feel passionate about. I think collaboration while studying allows you to get multiple perspectives on a topic and fosters the ability to understand concepts more deeply.
Where is your favorite place to study?
Lewis library! Love the outdoor spots when the weather is nice. Also a good coffee shop when it's raining or the balcony of my apartment.
