Family Medicine Residency
The Medical City Fort Worth Family Medicine Residency Program is an ACGME-accredited training program committed to developing compassionate, skilled family physicians who provide comprehensive care to diverse urban and suburban populations across North Texas.
Our program serves a large metropolitan community that includes many uninsured and underinsured patients, with a strong focus on caring for medically underserved populations. Many counties across Texas are designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA) or Medically Underserved Areas (MUA). According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, Texas continues to face a shortage of primary care physicians compared with the national average.
Through rigorous clinical training, strong mentorship and meaningful community engagement, we prepare residents to become excellent clinicians, educators and leaders in family medicine.
Program Director Welcome Message

Welcome to the Medical City Fort Worth Family Medicine Residency Program.
Our program was founded on the belief that family medicine physicians play a vital role in improving the health of communities. In North Texas, where healthcare disparities continue to exist, our mission is to train physicians who not only provide excellent clinical care but also serve as leaders, educators and advocates for their patients.
Residents in our program develop strong clinical skills through diverse inpatient and outpatient experiences while caring for patients across the full spectrum of family medicine. Our curriculum emphasizes procedural competence, continuity of care, community engagement and innovative areas of practice such as lifestyle medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment.
What truly distinguishes our program is our culture. We are a small program with big impact committed to creating a supportive learning environment where residents feel valued, challenged and inspired to grow both professionally and personally.
We take great pride in preparing graduates who are ready to lead healthcare teams, address health disparities and improve the well-being of the communities they serve.
Thank you for your interest in our program. We invite you to learn more about what makes our residency a unique place to train.
