Dr. Tasleyma (Tas) Akram, DO is a board-certified family physician specializing in functional and integrative medicine, with a focus on root-cause, whole-person care. She treats complex chronic conditions through a personalized, systems-based approach, with expertise in cardiometabolic disease, lipid disorders, diabetes, hypertension, and autoimmune conditions.

Dr. Akram earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and served as Chief Resident during her residency training, demonstrating leadership in patient-centered care and clinical excellence.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the College of Functional and Integrative Medicine Physicians (CFIP), a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing physician education and evidence-based integrative care. She has served as Secretary and President-Elect, contributing to organizational leadership, strategic growth, and physician engagement.

Dr. Akram is deeply committed to addressing health disparities and improving outcomes for underserved populations. As a former STAR (Steps Toward Academic Research) Fellow through the Texas Center for Health Disparities, she has contributed to research in cardiovascular health, microbiome science, and population health.

In addition to her clinical and organizational leadership, Dr. Akram is the founder of Serenity View Assisted Living & Memory Care, a physician-led residential care model focused on redefining senior living through higher standards of medical oversight, personalized care, and dignity-centered aging.

Dr. Akram’s work reflects a broader mission to bridge traditional healthcare, integrative medicine, and long-term care—bringing a physician-led, human-centered approach to complex conditions and aging populations.
