Physician Assistant
Preview, verb: To see beforehand
Previewing is the recommended first step for learning something new. It is a research-backed technique that can help students with comprehension, retention, and focus. As such, the Center for Academic Performance is proud to provide Sneak Preview workshops to incoming PA students.
The goal for these workshops is to:
-
Provide a quick review of high yield information for physiology and anatomy.
-
Offer an opportunity to meet classmates and upper classmen.
-
Teach foundational skills to help students adjust to their programs.
Registration Opens April 1, 2026, at 8 a.m. CST
Physiology Workshop
Cost: $95
Dates: July 28 - 30, 8 a.m. - noon
This workshop will introduce fundamental principles of physiology and how our systems are integrated to regulate homeostasis under physiological states. A basic understanding of concepts and terminologies of cardiovascular function, respiratory physiology, renal function, digestive physiology, skeletal muscle physiology, and neuro-humoral control of functions of those systems is assumed.
This workshop is led by PA student instructors.
Anatomy Workshop
Cost: $100
Dates: July 28 - 30, 1 - 5 p.m.
This workshop is a split between lecture and lab, mirroring anatomy courses in year one of medical school. Attendees will review anatomical structures and terminology; learn about anatomy lab safety and study strategies; and study pre-dissected organs and whole cadavers. On the final day, students will take a mock anatomy exam.
This workshop is led by TAs, faculty, and a PA student instructor.
Note: You will be required to authenticate your identity when you register.
