About Us
The Center for Student Life builds community and develops experiences that encourage and support student success. Our mission is to create transformational experiences for UNT Health students by providing tailored support, fostering student development and offering meaningful programs and leadership opportunities that build confidence, connection and success from orientation to graduation.
We provide a range of services, which include coordinating institutional events, planning new student orientation, developing student engagement and leadership programs, overseeing student governments and organizations and collaborating with campus partners. Hunter Koch, M. EdSenior Student Services CoordinatorHunter received dual degrees from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education (K-12) and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies. She received her Master of Education degree in Higher Education from Texas Christian University. She grew up outside of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Hunter moved to Houston in 2021 and worked as secondary visual arts teacher in Aldine Independent School District teaching painting, printmaking, drawing and AP 2D Design. While at TCU, she served as a Graduate Assistant in the office of Student Activities, working with student programming boards, large-scale university events and registered student clubs & organizations. Additionally, she was an intern with TCU Orientation and TCU Global. While at UNT Health, she assists with Orientation and the First Year Experience. She looks forward to welcoming students in their new beginnings at UNT Health and making Fort Worth feel like home. Strengths: Achiever – Communication – Belief – Consistency - Learner |

Crystal MartinezStudent Services SpecialistCrystal earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is currently pursuing her Master’s in higher Education at Liberty University. Passionate about supporting students throughout their academic journeys, she brings a strong and diverse background in education, encompassing both instructional and administrative roles. As a proud military spouse, Crystal has had the privilege of serving students across multiple states and educational levels, gaining valuable insight into the unique needs of diverse learning communities. Before joining the Center for Student Life, Crystal served Aledo Independent School District as the Dual Credit Specialist at Aledo High School, where she worked closely with students to bridge the transition between high school and higher education. In her current role as a Student Service Specialist, Crystal is dedicated to cultivating a welcoming, inclusive environment that enhances the UNT Health student experience and supports the mission of the Center for Student Life.
