Staff Spotlight: Isabella Anzaldua
July 1, 2026 • Behind the Scenes
Staff Spotlights are an opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look into our office and learn a little bit about the dedicated Student Affairs team members who commit their time and energy to supporting student success and thriving.
Isabella Anzaldua
Assistant Director, Career Readiness Center

What do you value most about working here?
The support and shared values. It can be challenging to find a workplace where colleagues
share similar values and support one another, and DSA has set an example of what a
collaborative and supportive work culture should look like.
What is an achievement you are proud of since joining UNT Health?
Hosting the biggest Physical Therapy Career Fair to date, and the Inaugural Nursing
Career Fair this past year. We brought in record employer attendance and revenue and
look forward to making next year's events even better.
How would you describe the team here in the Division of Student Affairs?
Collaborative and selfless. I believe DSA's size contributes to the working relationships and culture we have. I love that collaboration is always on the table, and we're willing to go above and beyond to support our students.
How do you balance work and personal life?
Physical activity after work is a non-negotiable. I go to Smart Barre classes a few
times a week after work to decompress and move my body. I also live next door to the
Trinity Trails and take a few runs a week, too. I've found that exercising after work
helps me ground myself and return to my personal life.
What's the last book you read or show you binge-watched?
I'm currently reading “The Defining Decade” by Dr. Meg Jay, and my boyfriend and
I just finished season two of “Severance!”
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Montenegro. I am a big fan of Eastern Europe, especially the Adriatic Coast. Montenegro
is an incredibly gorgeous country, and I hope to go there in the next few years.
What is a fun fact about you?
I am ambidextrous, and I went to the Paris Olympics with my two best friends and will be going with the same friends to the LA Olympics in 2028!
