OPTIMIZE BRAIN FUNCTION by improving brain health

Many factors impact brain health, including what you eat, how you spend your time, your physical activity, your social life, and how well you sleep and relax. If you would like to improve your overall brain function, the UNT Health brain health team will work with you make small adjustments to your lifestyle that will support optimal brain function.

UNT Health knows that it’s not easy to change lifelong habits, no matter what the benefits. That’s why participants choose one area they wish to improve upon and work with a brain health coach to meet their personal goals. Through online surveys, participants get personalized feedback as they chart their progress toward better brain health.

The Self-Management Program for Brain Health will support participants in making lifestyle changes that will promote brain health and cognitive functioning. A combination of health coaching, targeted assessment with feedback, and education will be used to provide a personalized approach to addressing brain function and health, empowering participants to self-manage their progress. Participant Expectations

Each program participant will receive a personalized report summarizing their results in the 7-Pillars of Brain Health Self-Assessment. The report includes a visual representation of participant scores for the areas assessed. The visual representation of the assessments is on a 1 to 10 scale, where a higher score means better performance in that area of brain health. Here is a sample section from the report:

The report includes additional details related to assessment of general health and sub-sets of mindfulness. Participant receive their individual report along with one-on-one feedback at the beginning of their participation, as well as at the conclusion.  This allows participants to track their progress on formal measures to provide them with additional information on their strengths and weaknesses.
