The Institute for Translational Research
Global leaders in cognitive aging and brain health research studies.

Dr. O'Bryant is one of the world's leading experts in blood-based biomarkers.
View StoryITR is dedicated to understanding Alzheimer's disease across all communities. Our research has been evolving since 2012. The Health & Aging Brain Study is the most comprehensive study of Alzheimer's among various communities ever conducted. We are constantly learning and adding to our research and study efforts to battle brain aging diseases.

Our team studies the biology of disease within the context of comprehensive factors because research shows that “who you are”, “where you are from” and “your situation” have biological impacts important on how you age.

The Health and Aging Brain Study - HD
The HABS-HD project is unique and critical to our understanding of the biology of the brain because it examines MCI and AD risk among all populations and communities. This is the first-ever large-scale study of Amyloid/Tau/Neurodegeneration pathological markers (and Framework) among a community-based cohort.

Operation Enduring Brain Health
A sub study of our HABS-HD study focused on active miitary and veteran brain health.

AHEAD
The AHEAD Study is an exciting, new development in Alzheimer's disease research. The AHEAD Study tests whether an investigational treatment slows the earliest brain changes associated with Alzheimer's disease. Brain changes related to Alzheimer's disease can begin up to 20 years before a person exhibits symptoms.
