Study Overview
The Alzheimer Biomarkers Consortium-Down Syndrome (ABC-DS) is a research project where we follow a group of adult volunteers with Down syndrome to find signs and risks of Alzheimer’s. As part of the study, we gather data through brain scans, blood tests and exams that look at how people with Down syndrome think.
Research Specifics
Who qualifies?
- Adults with Down syndrome
- 25 years of age or older
- Must be accompanied by a qualified study partner (e.g., parent, caregiver, legal guardian)
All participants undergo the following procedures:
- Testing of memory and thinking
- Medical exam
- Clinical laboratory blood work and storage of samples
- MRI of the brain
- PET scan of the brain
All study partners will undergo a study partner interview.
