New Faculty and Adjunct Appointments
New Faculty Appointments:
The process for hiring new faculty involves various players from different departments, along with numerous procedures which must be followed in order to be in compliance with institutional, state and SACS regulations. Before getting started, please review the documents below:

Please refer to the Initial Faculty Appointment Checklist as you move through each phase of the appointment process. If questions arise at any point, the Human Resources, UNT Health Quality and Risk Management, UNT Health Recruitment, and Faculty Affairs offices are available to provide guidance and support to ensure a smooth and successful appointment process.

Human Resource Services (HRS) serves as the initial point of contact for all new faculty
hires. HRS should be consulted regarding position posting requirements, ePAR submissions,
recruitment procedures, and pre-hire screening processes.
All positions are required to be posted, and candidates must submit an online application.
In accordance with policy, the position must remain open for at least five (5) business
days prior to closure.
For Faculty Credentialing, please work with the QC office during the credentialing
process.
Adjunct Appointments:
Adjunct Non-clinical Faculty Appointments are granted up to three years to those who
serve in an academic role such as teaching, lecturing, and/or grading assignments.
Adjunct Clinical Faculty Appointments are granted to those who serve in a clinical environment (i.e. clinical preceptors hosting Medical, PA, and Pharmacy students). Clinical credentialing is mandatory and must be completed before teaching students.
Paid adjunct faculty appointment must be posted.
Adjunct Faculty Reappointment:
Prior to the appointment termination date, the Department Chair determines which faculty
appointment will be reappointed.
