UNT Health does not provide on-campus housing. However, we have developed a partnership with GradRent to help our incoming students locate apartments, condos, and houses.

All the information you need to find the perfect apartment, condo, house, room, or other off-campus housing at the UNT Health. Grad Rent’s goal is to provide a clear, simple tool for students who are looking for a place off-campus and even has a roommate finder tool. Fort Worth is a fantastic city with lots of great apartments near the UNT Health. Use their platform to browse through listings of great properties that are close to campus and offer convenient options for off-campus and commuter students.

  • Student Housing Navigation Services - A UNT Health program that provides free resources that help students research home options that fit their budget and lifestyle. 
  • Local Student Housing Fairs - Local housing information fairs are offered for new students by Admissions & Recruitment at convenient locations on campus for students to drop-by and network with local housing providers.
  • Pet Friendly Housing - Many student-friendly property managers in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex are also pet-friendly! Use the GradRent or Zillow search engines for pet-friendly apartment complexes in and around town.
  • Local Crime Map – Plug any local address into this map to learn more about the neighborhoods you are considering.

It's very important to be careful when searching for off-campus housing, as many types of scams are prevalent in both online and real world transactions. Renter's Insurance

Some housing providers may require renter's insurance and some may not. It is always recommended to have proper coverage in case the unexpected happens.

  • Homeowner's Policy - Side Coverage - Some students may be covered under their parent's homeowners policy, however it is important not to just assume. If a parent wishes a student's rental to be covered it is important they contact their insurance agent.
  • Car Insurance Policy - Bundles - Some insurance companies allow you to bundle services for a discount! If you already have coverage for a car, you can contact your agent and get quotes on adding a renter's policy to your account. Many times bundling services results in annual savings for a multiple policy account.
  • Renter's Insurance Policy - Single: If the first two options aren't the right fit for you, there are many insurance companies that offer renter policies. Need help with food or other basic needs? Contact us at SARC@unthealth.edu to request help. Or just stop by the UNT Health Student Food Pantry in Gibson Library, Room 1L2A, on the first floor across from the Simulation Lab for some free food starting August 26, 2026! Prior to this date, use the Gibson Library, Room 450 location.
