Research Business Solutions (RBS) supports the Division of Research and Innovation by transforming institutional data into meaningful insights that inform strategy, improve operations and strengthen research administration. The team focuses on collecting, organizing and analyzing data from multiple systems to provide leadership and operational units with reliable information for decision-making and performance management.

Some of the key functions of RBS include:

  • Managing research data infrastructure and reporting tools via data governance, analytics and dashboard development that support the full lifecycle of sponsored programs and allow stakeholders to monitor research metrics, funding activity and financial indicators in realtime.
  • Providing actionable insights on research activity, funding trends and operational performance to help departments identify opportunities for improvement, monitor progress toward strategic goals and support data-driven planning across the research enterprise.
  • Providing operational and technical support for key research administration systems, including GRAMS, the university’s grant management system, and ECC, the time and effort certification platform used for sponsored projects.
  • Supporting the broader research administration infrastructure through website management and system data support, including facilities and administrative (F&A) data and other institutional research metrics.
