Christa Lo, DHSc, MPAS, PA-C

Interim Dean & Professor, College of Health Professions

Dr. Lo is the Associate Dean of the School of Health Professions.  She joined the team in 2024 from Golden, CO bringing extensive experience in teaching and leadership from 16 years in Physician Assistant education. As Program Director of the Red Rocks PA Program, she converted the PA certificate program into the only Master’s degree program in a community college in the nation.

She is a site visitor and commissioner for the Accreditation Review Commission on  Education for the Physician Assistant and facilitates Program Director workshops for the Physician Assistant Education Association.  She has clinical practice experience in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, military deployment and health assessments, and Occupational Medicine.

Lauren Dobbs, MMS, PA-C

Department Chair and Program Director | Associate Professor

PA Dobbs graduated from Wake Forest University in 2003 and Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 2007. She has practiced in general pediatrics since 2007 and is the Director of the Pediatric Literacy Program at UNT Health Department of Pediatrics and Women’s Health. She has served in numerous leadership positions including Texas Academy of Physician Assistant (TAPA) President and Secretary- Treasurer for the American Academy of PAs (AAPA). She has been awarded the Department of PA Studies Preceptor of the Year Award six times and has received the TAPA Legislative Advocacy Award.

Jeffrey Beeson, DO, RN, EMT-P

Medical Director | Assistant Professor

Dr. Jeff Beeson serves as The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth’s medical director for the PA Program. He is also interim executive vice president for health systems and sits on the president’s cabinet. Additionally, he is the university’s vice president of clinical partnerships.

Beeson has spent more than 30 years working in public safety and population health. He started his career as an emergency medical technician working in rural Texas. After earning a degree in nursing, he became a paramedic and registered nurse working in emergency departments and with air medical flight programs. He later attended medical school at HSC’s Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to his duties on campus, he also manages the medical team for the state’s urban search and rescue department.

Jennifer Crumm, MSM, PA-C, RD

Associate Program Director | Assistant Professor

PA Crumm graduated from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville in 2010 receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. She completed a dietetic internship with Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, and became a registered dietitian in 2011. She graduated from the Graduate Physician Assistant Program at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN, in 2013, earning a degree of Master of Science in Medicine. She relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, and spent six years in clinical practice, specializing in endocrinology. Prior to joining the wonderful faculty and staff at UNTHSC, she had the privilege of being a clinical preceptor to several students from the UNT Health Physician Assistant Studies program. PA Crumm transitioned from clinical practice to academia when she joined UNT Health in 2020 as an Assistant Professor. She was appointed as Associate Program Director in April, 2025.

Renolds, Julia

Julia O. Reynolds, MPAS, PA-C

Assistant Professor | Director of Academic Education

PA Reynolds graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a B.S. in Geology in 1981, where she continued on with graduate coursework. Following her graduate studies, she worked as a Petroleum Geologist for 17 years, followed by 5 years as a Biology, Chemistry, and Physics teacher at a local high school. Throughout her career as a Petroleum Geologist and teacher, she continued to take college courses to pursue her dream of going to PA school. She was accepted into the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s Allied Health PA program and graduated in 2006. Her experience and expertise as a PA has been in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine, where she also served as a preceptor for medical school students and nurse practitioner students on a daily basis. Since joining UNT Health as a faculty member in 2013, she has directed numerous courses, been inducted into Pi Alpha, and currently serves as the Director of Academic Education for the PA Studies Program.

Matthew Boutte, MPAS, PA-C

Assistant Professor

PA Boutte is a half-time faculty member who assists the program with teaching courses, OSCEs, labs, and other tasks. He is a 2009 graduate of our program. After graduation, he completed an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He was President of Texas Academy of Physician Assistants – TAPA 2020-2021 and remains a member of the Legislative Affairs Committee.

Brosnan, Amanda

Amanda Brosnan, MPAS, MPH, PA-C

Assistant Professor

PA Brosnan graduated from Texas A&M University in 2009 (whoop!) and worked as an 8th grade science teacher with Teach for America in a rural community in Arkansas. She then went to UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, graduating with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2014. Since graduation she has worked in the areas of family medicine, urgent care, sleep medicine, and anti-coagulation. Prior to HSC, she worked for several years in infectious disease and population health at Tarrant County Public Health. She is a Senior Atlantic fellow for health equity and a Bloomberg fellow for adolescent health with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she received her master’s in public health.

Vic Holmes

Vic Holmes, PA-C, MPAS, EdD

Associate Professor

PA Holmes currently teaches Evidence-Based Medicine, Master’s Project, and a range of other medical topics at the UNTHSC. He also conducts Ally and LGBTQ+ Relations training across the U.S. and is currently conducting a Transgender Health Needs Assessment Research Project across the state of Texas. His clinical work has ranged from family medicine across several specialties and most recently involved providing home-based medical care for the mentally and physically challenged. He graduated from the Interservice Physician Assistant Program in 2000 and retired honorably from the Air Force after 22 years of service. He is the faculty advisor for the UNT Health Pride (LGBTQ+) Student Group and is completing the Dissertation for his Doctorate in Education specializing in Distance and Computer-based Learning. He spends his free time with his husband baking bread and animating squeaky toys for his adorable beagles.”

Audrey Lively, MSM, PA-C

Assistant Professor

PA Lively graduated from Abilene Christian University in 2009 with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Biology and English. She attended the Graduate Physician Assistant Program at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN, from which she graduated in 2011 with her Master of Science in Medicine degree. PA Lively practiced as a member of the UT Health Orthopedic Trauma Team in Houston from 2011-2021 at The Red Duke Trauma Institute in the Texas Medical Center. She precepted PA students for several years in Houston and in 2022 joined the UNT Health faculty as an assistant professor.

Laine Markham

Laine Markham, MMS, MBA, PA-C

Assistant Professor

PA Markham graduated from Texas Tech University (2003) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. After working as a publication designer for 3 years, she began her journey to become a PA. She attended Midwestern University in Arizona, graduating with a Master of Medical Science in PA Studies (2012). She worked in orthopedic hand surgery and pain management before joining UNT Health (2016) to work in cardiology at UNT Health Clinical Practice Group. After 9 years of clinical practice, including 4 years of serving as the Clinical Medical Director of Multispecialty Medicine, in 2025 she transitioned to academia to serve as the Course Director for Cardiology I and II. In addition to her academic focus, she maintains a clinical cardiology practice, seeing patients at UNT Health Clinical Practice Group and through Correctional Medicine at the Federal Medical Centers. She has a particular clinical interest in the management of cardiac implantable electronic devices. She earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Health Services Management (2024). She is highly involved in service within the university, including serving as the elected Faculty Senate President (2024-2025).

Jeffrey Mott DHSc, PA-C

Associate Professor

Dr. Mott received his Bachelor of Science degree as a Physician Assistant (PA) from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 1996 in collaboration through the Army Physician Assistant Program. Three years later he received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine. He later went on to complete an orthopedic fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center with a follow on ortho assignment in Colorado. In 2008, Dr. Mott retired from active duty Army and settled in San Antonio, Texas, where he continued to serve the military as a Department of Defense civilian instructor at the Academy of Health Sciences, Army Medical Department Center & School at Fort Sam Houston. In 2012, he received a Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL. In January 2014, after 6 years of training military physician assistants in predeployment trauma medicine, he accepted his current faculty appointment at the UNT Health Science Center Physician Assistant Studies Program.

Dr. Mott is the course director for the musculoskeletal, geriatrics and Senior Seminar courses as well as the elective 4 clinical rotations. He serves the UNT Health as a member of the Faculty Bylaws & Policies Committee, the Faculty Grievance Committee and Chair of the School of Health Professions Promotion & Tenure Committee. Within the PA program, he serves as a member of the Student Performance Committee and the Admissions Committee. He also serves on the Students Affairs Committee for the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.

Paula Olson 1

Paula Olson, MPAS, PA-C

Assistant Professor

PA Olson is an honors graduate of the UNT Health Physician Assistant Program, Class of 2012. Following graduation, she practiced in the fields of orthopedics, neurosurgery, and diagnostic & interventional radiology in Fort Worth, Texas. She joined the faculty of UNT Health in 2024 as an assistant professor. Her responsibilities include directing the neurology course and overseeing part of the Clinical Integrated Medicine series.

Jamie Park, MPAS, PA-C

Assistant Professor

PA Park graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2009 with a Master of Physician Assistance Studies. Previously, she earned a Master of Science in Integrative Molecular and Biological Sciences from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. For over 15 years, PA Park has practiced emergency medicine in Texas and Louisiana, enjoying the challenging, fast-paced environment. She joined the UNTHSC’s faculty in 2019, where she enjoys teaching and training PA students in the behavioral sciences and clinical integration medicine. Her other areas of interest include clinical reasoning, simulation-based learning, and interprofessional education.

Kenya Samuels, MPAS, PA-C

Associate Professor

PA Samuels, an Associate Professor in the PA Studies Program at UNTHSC, brings extensive experience in primary care and pediatrics. She combines clinical expertise with a passion for mentoring future healthcare professionals. Earning her master’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, her diverse clinical experience has sharpened her diagnostic skills and clinical acumen. At UNTHSC, she teaches physical examination skills and pediatrics, mentors students, and leads key committees. She also contributes to the profession through presentations, publications, and research. Outside of work, she values time with her son and pet, maintaining a balanced life.

Tamara Willmoth, MPAS, PA-C

Assistant Professor

PA Willmoth received a BS in biology from Tarleton State University in 2009 and a MPAS in PA Studies from UNT Health in 2012. Her clinical background is in gastroenterology and emergency medicine. She joined UNT Health in 2017 as Assistant Professor, teaching the first and second-year PA students during their didactic years of education. She is faculty director of the PA Clinical Organization and the UNT Health Stridors Run Club. Her teaching interests include emergency and wilderness/improvised medicine, dermatology, and clinical procedures. Her hobbies include ultra-marathon trail running and playing with her kids. She also works a few days per month at a local urgent care.

Veda Womack, MBA, PA-C

Associate Professor

PA Womack graduated from Touro College in 2001 with a baccalaureate in Physician Assistant Studies, followed by a Surgical Residency for PAs at Montefiore Medical Center and an MBA from George Washington University in 2014. She has worked in various surgical subspecialties across New York, Southern California, and Texas, with much of her experience focused on complex plastic and reconstructive surgery.

PA Womack joined the faculty at UNT Health in 2018 and previously served as the Director of Clinical Education. She is a Faculty Senate Past President and currently serves as Executive Director of Faculty Success in the Office of the Provost.

In addition to her academic and clinical contributions, PA Womack has traveled extensively and volunteered internationally, including service with the medical mission organization Amazon Promise in Iquitos, Peru, in 2007.

Senior Project Coordinator

Ms. Garcia is the Senior Project Coordinator for the program and works with the Director of Clinical Education to schedule practicum rotations for clinical year PA students. In addition, she assists with student credentialing and grading of clinical courses. She provides course support to the clinical phase of the program. She has worked at UNT Health over 10 years and was the Valubility of the Month employee for June 2018.

Ms. Gardner is the Clinical Site Coordinator for the program. She works to recruit and retain clinical sites and preceptors for our students.

Ms. Helton serves as an Administrative Coordinator for the PA program, providing essential support to faculty, managing didactic scheduling, and assisting with various course-related tasks. She supports the didactic phase of the program and plays a crucial role in assisting with OSCEs, labs, and admissions interviews. As a valued member of the Administrative Professionals Team, Ms. Helton has been part of the PA program since 2016, contributing to its continued success.

Ms. Jasinski plays a key role in supporting faculty and enhancing classroom operations, while also providing vital administrative support to the department. She coordinates departmental events, manages appointments, and ensures smooth day-to-day operations. Additionally, Ms. Jasinski manages student records, serves as the primary contact for the ODA and White Coat Ceremony, and plays a crucial role in assisting with OSCEs, labs, and admissions interviews. Her efforts help foster engagement and collaboration within the department.

Ms. Snow serves as an Administrative Coordinator, providing essential support across various functions of the department. She plays a key role in accreditation preparation, ensuring compliance and readiness for evaluations. In addition, she coordinates appointments, supports multiple committees, and manages the preparation of data-related documents. Ms. Snow is also a valuable resource to faculty, offering administrative assistance wherever needed to ensure smooth operations.

Ashley Gentry, MPAS, PA-C

Associate Professor

PA Gentry graduated with honors from the University of North Texas Health Science Center Physician Assistant Program in 2012. She began her clinical career in a rural family medicine practice in Cleburne, Texas, and soon returned to UNT Health as a faculty member in the PA program.

In addition to her background in family medicine, PA Gentry has clinical experience in vascular and interventional radiology, having practiced at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

In addition to her appointment in the PA program, she currently serves as the Faculty Director of Accreditation within the University Assessment and Accreditation team. She is also pursuing a PhD in Higher Education Administration at Liberty University, with a focus on assessment and evaluation. PA Gentry contributes to the profession as a site visitor for the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).

Savannah Elkins, MPAS, PA-C

Assistant Professor

PA Elkins graduated from Texas A&M University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After completing her undergraduate degree, she gained valuable experience in allergy/immunology and pediatric orthotics while raising her young family. She later earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from UNT Health in 2022. During her time as a student, Savannah served as President of the PA Student Association, all while balancing motherhood and academics. Following graduation, she practiced as a full time PA in endocrinology. In 2025, Savannah returned to UNT Health as an Assistant Professor, teaching Introduction to Disease and Clinical Integrated Medicine. Her passion for lifelong learning extends beyond the classroom—she enjoys playing piano, tackling home renovation projects, running, and exploring new cultures through travel. Most importantly, Savannah treasures time with her husband and their two young boys.

Adjunct Assistant Professor/Regional Hub Coordinator-Prairies and Lakes Region

Dr. Kristine Kucera is a certified physician associate at Lockhart Matter Dermatology in Prosper, Texas. She is clinically involved with the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of general dermatologic patients and has been practicing in the Dallas area for over 25 years. She has a particular interest in the treatment of systemic inflammatory diseases and is considered a national key opinion leader in Psoriasis and Atopic Dermatitis.

Dr. Kucera attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies and completed her Master of Science degree through the University of Nebraska Physician Assistant Program where she specialized in Dermatology. Her Doctorate of Health Science degree was awarded in mid-2006 at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

She lectures nationally on several dermatologic conditions, has had publications in peer reviewed journals, and is currently serving as a Clinical Advisor to the Dermatology Education Foundation. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and has served two terms as President of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

She serves as a part time Regional Hub Coordinator for the Prairies and Lakes Region of Texas.

Sean Green, PA-C, is the current Texas Panhandle Regional Hub Coordinator for UNT Health Physician Assistant Program.  Green has been practicing in Canyon, TX since 2005 in both family practice and urgent care. Prior to his position as senior mid-level provider for Family Medicine Center and Carexpress of Amarillo and Canyon, TX – he practiced emergency medicine in Dalhart and family practice in Seymour, TX. A 1992 graduate from Wichita State University Physician Assistant Program, Green has been working with UNT since 2023.

Assistant Professor

PA Dosumu graduated from D’Youville University in 2009 with a B.A. in Biology. She attended the Graduate Program at D’Youville University in Buffalo, NY, from which she graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science/Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She worked as a Pediatric hospitalist and an outpatient before joining UNT Health in 2015 to practice Internal Medicine and Family Medicine at UNT Health Clinical Practice Group. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Health Services Management, with plans to graduate in December 2025. She is very passionate about the underserved community and teaching future clinicians. 

Piatt, Linda

Linda Piatt, MSN, FNP-BC

Regional Clinical Outreach Coordinator-Prairies & Lakes / North Central Texas Region

Linda Piatt, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, has been employed as a Regional Clinical Outreach Coordinator-Prairies & Lakes / North Central Texas Region.  Prior to coming to UNT Health, she was employed at CVS Minute Clinic for thirteen years as a family nurse practitioner.  She has a Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and her Family Nurse Practitioner certification from University of Texas in Arlington. Her career in nursing has spanned from being part and full time faculty at both Texas Woman’s University and North Central Texas College to experience in occupational medicine, childbirth education and medical surgical nursing.  Her regional contacts in Texas provide great assistance in finding clinical sites for the PA students.
